HELLO FELLOWS. So, Sheena, Maddie, Shawna and I have been thinking: what ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) fleets needs more of is blatant rip-offs of military television shows. Our television show of choice? NCIS, motherlovers. Right now we have versions of Tony, Gibbs, Ziva, and Abby on the docket; I know a few people are apping forensic people of some kind, so we will probably hit you up for a Ducky. Or you should hit us up. Or something. There will be hitting. We still need a McGee, and maybe a Palmer and/or director of some kind idkkkk. ANYWAY, lovedbythesun, a_chroi, and ikhan, you should put up stuff about your characters here. And plot things.
HERE IS THE BASIC RUNDOWN OF MINE: He is still in the works, but I know that he is currently not military--he's some kind of intelligence officer, though I have to figure out which branch of the government. He'll probably be with the NSA/CSS, and be a specialist in languages, codes, cryptology, and FILING. But that all might change; he is sort of on the backburner at present. What I do know about him is that he's a stickler for protocol and a firm believer in the power of paperwork and accuracy--bitches, you will be signing all forms in triplicate forever. He was born outside the US and English isn't his first language, so while he's aces at breaking codes, he occasionally fucks up basic colloquialisms and words, and please do not ask him about current internet slang. "What is 'lulz'?" This will be an IC question.
edit. Unrelated, but I've decided Joss/Ryan Gosling PB's callsign is going to be Brawny. As in paper towels. Because he is known for wearing red flannel and cleaning shit.

stethoscopic has made me excited (!!!) about RPing in an Anticipating of Plans type of way, which is new given that all my Neo plots are making me excited in a Tinged With Melancholia type of way -- it's rather exhilarating to fall into a new world tits over heels and exercising new muscles in the application process. After a break to respond to scenes and the like (HI chthonian AND faeriexlights, HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU), stupa shall be wrested into submission with wicked amounts of enthusiasm. Hello, Classical Archaeology, and thank you for finally being somewhat useful.
In other news, I made a delicious pumpkin cheesecake that is actually a fat lot better for you (HAR HAR) than usual recipes. It is basically like the baking gods said hi, Allison, you can make decent things for the holiday season. OM NOM NOM.

A couple things! First, a meme:
Comment below and I will tell you which of your characters that I've played against are my favorites and why I love them. The reasons will probably be like HERP DERP THEY MAKE ME LOL because I suck at these, but whatever.
Second! So I know the people who are apping girls in the Angel squadron (or girls who will be in the Angel squadron) have been chatting across posts, but I thought it'd be fun/wise if we started sort of hashing out their dynamic! At least for the girls already in the squadron -- how they act with each other, power dynamics, how they act with the other squadrons/pilots/soldiers/etc. So far I know Dee/Ricochet is the leader and Carver/Blitz gets her rocks off heckling the other pilots, BUT WHAT ELSE. Give me deets.
Third! I have at least one more character coming up for Dread but I'm still working her out (and I know I will have a fourth because it's me) so I apologize in advance for future spam.

I am currently distracting myself from telemarketing (lol I love being hung up on IT IS MY FAVORITE PASTIME) by looking at the current job market. I don't want to quit my job--my boss is nice and forgiving, and while I p. much hate the work, the environment's good, plus job secuurity!--but I'm just not making enough. I know a couple of you guys have two jobs, so my question is--how did you go about getting them? Even when I've only been working part-time, I can never seem to find another part-time job that will work around my working somewhere else. It's also a huge turn-off when I go into interviews saying the job would be a secondary one. Do you guys have any advice in that arena? Where should I be looking, what should I expect in terms of hours/interview issues/etc. I was looking at like, idk, delivery drivers or data entry--something easy and non-taxing I could do a couple late nights a week and weekends. I'm trying to save up money to move out of state, and with student loans coming up soon, I'm just not making enough right now to even ballpark how much I'd need.
EDIT: More RP-related, but who wants to make and/or find me icons of newspapers/stations/anchors/reports/etc.? Just generic ones for the Theo mod account. ty in advance~

I'll be short, since that is also the length of my temper: my painting session today did not go well. If it had, I would have another (mostly) finished painting and I would only have to worry about one painting on my docket for the weekend. But the session was shit, I have a mutated canvas upstairs, and I am presently looking at having to build an extra day of time into my already shortening schedule. So this is pretty much how it's going, kids:
Unless you e-mail or text me telling me to be on from x time to y time, I am not going to be online until this fucking godforsaken series of paintings is done/Tuesday, when I go into critique and weep bitter fucking tears down my stupid fucking face. The end.
In an attempt to make me not use the words "fucking," "shit," "motherfucker," or "cunt" at least once in a sentence for the rest of this entry, I am going to post my steamtrek concepts. It is a pretty good way to cheer me up, regardless of whether plot is offered or otherwise. Follow the cut for more interesting news in more interesting pastures!
EDIT: Oh hey, I am guessing the real reason my day went awefoijawfeopij! was because at the very moment that my paintings started to bomb, Jeanne-Claude died.

O HAI, U GUISE! This post has nothing to do with RP, but I wanted to ask you guys something on behalf of a friend of mine named Jen! Some of you know her as Bot if you were back in MAIMED; now, she's all graduated like ~A Big Grown-Up Person~ and is working for Scenarios USA, which is a non-profit that works with gender issues in New York. Right now, Scenarios USA needs some beta readers for a series of screenplays that they'll be going through in January, and although she's asked me to look through some, she was wondering if there were any people that I would know who would be interested in doing this! You'll only get 10 plays and a rubric to mark through and see whether this is a Good Play or a Bad Play, and then you'll send it off -- a short bit of your time is promised, since they're supposed to be for video shorts.
Anyway, if any of you guys are interested in this, please comment here so I can send you Jen's work address to e-mail her more! :)

My mother saw Twilight and loved it. She won't listen to me say the horrible things the book is idealizing (lol abuse, lol stalking, lol invalidation of woman without man) because "they weren't in the movie," and now she's excited for the new one and I literally feel dirty inside.
